About KV

Kendriya Vidyalaya IOC Haldia is a part of the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, which is an autonomous body under the Ministry of Education. The schools are affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education. Kendriya Vidyalaya I.O.C. Haldia is one of the several Kendriya Vidyalayas all over the country. There are three KVs in abroad too. KV IOC Haldia is about 100 Km away from Kolkata. This Vidyalaya was established in the year 1986 under the noble guidance of Mr S. N. Sarkar, Executive Director, Haldia Refinery, IOC Haldia who was the first Chairman, VMC with Shri S. K. Rudrapaul -Principal of this Vidyalaya. Initially it was up to class-VI level. Now it is a full fledged school running with all three streams (Science, Humanities and Commerce) at plus 2 level .

The school moved to the sprawling campus and well designed school building in prime location at Haldia. It now has about 550 students. The school has single section in every class.

The Laboratories are well equipped. The school has an activity room for the Primary classes. A Mathematics lab has been started to create interest in Mathematics and also to reduce the phobia associated with Mathematics. Information Practices is taught as elective subjects in the higher secondary level. A medical room has also been set up for students falling ill or receiving injuries.

There is adequate space for the students to play different games. There are courts for Volley Ball, Basket Ball, Football, Kho-Kho. Students can also opt to play Table-tennis, cricket and Badminton. There is an exclusive children play area with swings, slides & climbers.

Students are encouraged to participate in different co-curricular activities.

The faculty is very good for all academic and co-curricular activities. There are two computer labs with 37 computers. The school can boast of a broad band connection. There is Internet facilities in the lab. A new E-Room with the necessary gadgets has been setup. The school is decorated with beautiful statues of Gods & great men and paintings which serve as an inspiration to the students.

The KV is up to class XII and it is a single section school. The school is under the Project sector.
